Supervisor of electrical works

In various organizations, the role of supervisor of electrical work is accepted. This role has not been defined in electricity licenses, and is a professional and accepted enforcement enforcement role in a large number of industrial plants and organizations.

The role of a supervisor of electrical work in an organization usually consists of: supervision, inspection, coordination and in accordance with the specification and order of work and providing instructions for performing work and compliance with low and high voltage electrical safety rules in accordance with electrical plans, law and regulations, procedures and safety instructions. It examines the form of work of operators (organization workers and contractors), appropriate licenses, tools, personal protective equipment and its use, field behavior, training and receiving appropriate training.

It is his job to oversee safety processes in preparing space for work, such as disconnecting / connecting an electrical installation according to the organization's procedures.

There is no definition of powers of a supervisor of electrical works in regulations, the organization will define them itself.

His powers can be defined as: report to the manager or person in charge of the organization, approval or prevention of work, removal of employees or equipment that does not meet safety requirements, prohibition of performing unsafe work, etc.

Frequency and time of the inspector's presence in the workplace will be determined according to the complexity of the work, environmental condition, level of performance and other technical and safety requirements.

The terms "supervised" and "supervision" were mentioned in the following electrical regulations (my emphasis is on :)

"Licenses":

Regulation - 9 Supervisor of performing work Assistant electrician and responsible for their implementation.

Regulations 11, 13 - Approval, supervision and responsible for performing work of practical electrician and assistant electrician.

"Installation of carriers and their transmission at a voltage that does not exceed low voltage":

"The degree of electrical license of an electrical work supervisor in an organization requires a definition of powers and a breakdown of types of work. Therefore, the degree of electrician's license can be defined for this position:

• Chief electrician - at least supervising work on low-voltage installations, including supervision of safety rules and permits for disconnecting / connecting high-voltage installations;

• Electrician - engineer - in the case of giving instructions and planning work in living electrical installations and supervising the performance of work in high voltage installations.
